This trend works with traditional long boards as in the design below as well as square and rectangular tiles. Use the same tones on the cupboards and units with the bathroom as they’ll complement each other felicitously.
Raise the temperature in a black-and-white bathroom by adding warm metal fixtures and a glass mosaic tile floor in opalescent shades of gold. Use large textured tiles embossed with a pattern for rich texture that’s not overwhelming to the eye. For an especially cohesive space match floors shower enclosure and console counter in the same color and material.
This seemingly at least is probably one of the words which I’ve seen being flaunted in the design world in 2014. Glam this glam that: Well how about this: Hotel glam! Glamarous hotel style bathrooms are becoming more common place in new build designs and frankly why not? They’re daring fearless and roar with zest.
Use cabinetry with open storage: Storage under the sink is a plus and if it has open storage it can serve decorative purposes at the same time. Open storage shelves allow towels baskets and other decorative items to be stored without using up room in a closet. If you decide on open storage for your bathroom be mindful of clutter and adding too many items on the shelves.
Enclosed shower: PROS: Home owners that prefer a more private bathing experience may opt for the enclosed shower. Shower walls can be fully transparent semi-transparent or etched glass can provide more privacy. CONS: Some home owners do not like the glass getting wet and splattered with water droplets after every shower usage. The glass either needs to be cleaned after every use or wiped dry to avoid build up of water droplets. This can be time consuming and if you have hard water more laborious than worth it.
Opt for larger floor tile in a small bathroom: When selecting floor tile choose larger units and patterns that are subtle rather than busy. Less breaking up of the floor lines equates to less visual chopping with your eyes. Flooring should compliment your bathroom and by using small floor tile you will detract from your goal of enlarging the space.
